French and Cooking courses in France

Have you always wanted to take a cooking course in France, but thought it might be too intimidating? At the Ecole des Trois Ponts, our in-house chef patiently and expertly guides the class as you learn to prepare delicious French specialties.
After a morning of French language instruction, spend afternoons in our cozy kitchen with fellow classmates, creating a variety of sweet and savory dishes. Develop your culinary vocabulary as you chop, whisk and stir your way through classic French recipes. Enjoy your creations that evening at dinner with other guests and instructors.

Our Cooking courses include French cooking, a Pastry & Baking course and there's French Chocolate Making & Sculpture too.

Our course fees are per person and include classes, accommodation and meals, for a real French immersion in France.  BEGINNERS

A - French and Cooking Courses for beginners

This course is available on those weeks that have a letter "A" on our calendar (top left). If you are new to French and also want to learn French cooking skills, then this is the course for you. In the mornings you attend the Beginners Group language classes and in the afternoons the Cookery course.

The French classes are taught by professional, native French-speaking tutors and have a maximum of 6 per class. Learn formal and informal French, with an emphasis on conversational skills. We consider you a complete beginner if your result on our French Test is 7 or less.

The cooking course takes place in a relaxed and warm atmosphere on site at Villa Beaulieu. It is aimed at those who love presentation or those extra details that give your dishes that special something. Our Chef’s imagination has led him to invent some delicious, but easy to follow, dishes that will enchant your palate, awaken your tastebuds and delight your friends at your next dinner party!

15 hours language: Mon-Fri 9.15am-12.15pm (group class) PLUS
12 hours cooking: four afternoons 4.30pm-7.30pm

Intermediate and Advanced

A - French and Cooking Courses

This course is available on those weeks that have a letter "A" on our calendar (top left). In the mornings you attend the Intensive French group language course and in the afternoons, our cookery classes.

Build on your existing knowledge of French to improve and extend your conversational skills. Our professional, native French-speaking tutors teach you formal and informal French, with an emphasis on conversational skills. Our group classes have a maximum of 6 per class and to be considered for this course you need 8 or more points on our French Test. In addition to our online test, all our students have a one-to-one oral test on the first day, before any classes start. This allows our teachers to assess each student before placing them in an appropriate group.

The cooking course takes place in a relaxed and warm atmosphere on site at Villa Beaulieu. It is aimed at those who love presentation or those extra details that give your dishes that special something. Our chef’s imagination has led him to invent some delicious, but easy to follow, dishes that will enchant your palate, awaken your tastebuds and delight your friends at your next dinner party!

If your priority is to have a great holiday and learn some French along the way, then this is the course for you. You'll be attending group classes in the mornings, leaving you free to explore the French countryside and way of life in the afternoons.

D - French and Pastry and Baking Courses

This course is available for one week and it's very popular, so book early to avoid missing out ! It includes French language classes, French pastry classes, as well as French baking classes.

Have you always wanted to try French pastry and bread-making?  Learn successful techniques from our accomplished pastry chef.  Our course includes:  cake-making & decoration, pastry bases and creams for tarts & mini-tarts, croissants, puff pastry for starters & desserts.

Our enthusiastic, talented teacher, Chef , with his artistic flair and advanced technical qualifications, teaches you in a relaxed setting. He leads you on a creative adventure that will teach you the basics, how to improve on them, and encourages you to use your imagination. The course is structured as follows:

5 mornings of French Language group classes - maximum of 6 per group

PLUS

4 afternoons of French Pastry classes
Conducted in French with a discreet translation for non French speakers where you can make cakes, pastries, desserts and decoration including:

  • Lundi : Pâtes et crème de base de la pâtisserie française (Croissant, feuilleté, pâte sucrée, brioche feuilleté, crème pâtissière, crème amande, crème citron)
    Mardi : Finition et mise en oeuvre de viennoiseries, brioche feuilletée roulée, pain aux raisins blonds, tarte citron classique, croissant et pithivier
    Jeudi : Trilogie de macarons (after-eight, bounty, fruits rouges aux pruneaux)
    Vendredi : Dessert à l’assiette "Etat de choc croustillant à l’émulsion de vanille"

Only available once a year and for one week only, our French & Chocolate Making Course includes French language classes, as well as French Chocolate making classes.

See how easy & fun it is with a course dedicated to chocolate preparation and using chocolate in gateaux, fondant, pralines, truffles, biscuits, bonbons and more. A real chance to develop your artistic side and your taste buds. You'll also find a lot more people accepting your dinner party invitations! Our enthusiastic, talented teacher,  with his artistic flair and advanced technical qualifications, teaches you in a relaxed setting. He leads you on a creative adventure that will teach you the basics, how to improve on them, and encourages you to use your imagination in the creation of a chocolate presentation. The course is structured as follows:

PLUS

4 afternoons of chocolate making classes
Conducted in French with a discreet translation for non French speakers, the course covers:

  • Lundi : Truffes au chocolat noir, fondant chocolat et coeur à l’orange
    Mardi : Pâtes de fruits bi/goût, meringues, petits fours et guimauve barbe à papa
    Jeudi : Bonbons de chocolat moulés (3 parfums)
    Vendredi : Montage chocolat personnalisé : Bonbonnière thème "Automne"
