Beaujolais Wine Circuit

The Beaujolais wine area: North-east from Roanne

A) From Roanne for a day trip to the Beaujolais:

Go direct to Villefranche Sur Saone then take D43 to visit the Beaujolais villages and vineyards in Odenas, Mt. Brouilly, D43 to Regnié-Durette, D9 to Villie-Morgon, D86 to Chiroubles, D119 to Fleurie, D68 to Chenas and onto Julienas.

Return to Roanne via Beaujeu and the Monts des Lyonnais mountains. From Julienas take D26 to Beaujeu. Then D37 through les Echarmeaux, Chauffailles, then D83 to Charlieu, D487 to Pouilly sous Charlieu and D482 back to Roanne.

B) Coming down from Macon to Roanne:

You can do the following circuit. Take the autoroute A31-E17 then turn off onto N79 and visit the wine villages of Pouilly-Fuisse, St. Verand, St. Amour, Bellevue, Julienas, Chanas, Fleurie, Villie-Morgon, Beaujeu (capital of Beaujolais).

Then from Beaujeu take D37 to Chauffailles, D83 to Charlieu and D487 to Pouilly sous Charlieu then left onto D482 to Roanne.
